Bookstores make a clear distinction between:
- audiobooks (only-audio files, books you can only listen, like a music track)
- audio-ebooks (ePub3 enhanced with audio).
With StreetLib, you can upload and publish audio-ebooks as ePub3 files enhanced with audio. However, we don’t currently distribute audiobooks.
If you publish an audio-ebook, it will be sent to all your chosen stores like a normal eBook. It’s then up to each store to decide whether or not to distribute the book.
To the best of our knowledge, all the major stores accept ePub3 audio-ebooks (except for Scribd and Barnes & Noble, but they hope to accept ePub3 files by the end of the year).
