- You need to generate the ePub3 and the matching KF8 to get your book also properly published on Amazon (always keeping in mind the important point detailed in 2.)
The KF8 generated automatically by Amazon (as they do for ePub2, converting them to MOBI themselves) is lower quality than the one created through StreetLib Write as it won't include Kindle Pop up text and Kindle Panel View features (http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1000729511), so it's way better to send them their format ourselves.
To do so, at the end of your book project on StreetLib Write, after you clicked on "publish" (that'll publish your book as ePub3), you need to click on "download", choose "KF8" and upload the KF8 file when publishing your book. We are working on automating this process.
If you hired our service to create your fixed layout book, we'll take care of both your ePub3FXL and KF8.
Nota Bene: For now, Amazon only accept eBooks in Fixed Layout formats (FXL) for the following categories:
1. Children's book
3. School/university books with complex layouts.
For all the other book types with images (few or lots) but composed mainly of text, you'll need to create a reflowable book if you wish to be published on Amazon. Otherwise, your book will be blocked on this store.
If you don't find your book falling in any of these two categories, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org so we can assist you.
- Google Play, for the moment, requires individual checks of every Fixed Layout eBooks added to their catalog. We'll take care of this verification for you but we'll need 2 weeks so don't worry if you don't see your book on Google right away.
Bonus: You can get more information about the Fixed Layout here and, of course, you can always, whatever your issue or question is, ask for assistance to our Care team by writing to email@example.com.
